A core value of Rocktech Earthmoving Wearparts is the right of the individual to work in a safe environment. With this in mind conformance to OHASA is a key measurement in Rocktech.

Each factory has a dedicated Safety Officer ensuring that all the requirements of the Occupational Health and Safety Act are complied with at all times.

Staff are retrained on an annual basis on safety issues relating to their jobs. Each factory is served by fully trained Health and Safety Representatives, First Aiders and Fire Teams.

The entire team is guided and monitored by a dedicated Senior Manager and Safety Management Team.

BEE

At Rocktech, we recognise employment equity and people development as key components of our business strategy. Initiatives in these areas are fundamental to the future growth and success of our business.

We see the rationale for equity as exceeding social conscience or legislative pressure. It is also about creating an equitable environment in which the diversity of all employees is valued, and where they are given the opportunity to develop.

In order to achieve this, rocktech has embarked on a programme of focused development of designated employees in areas where there is currently under-representation, while simultaneously auditing our employment policies and practices to eliminate all forms of unfair discrimination.

We are actively working towards creating a workforce which reflects the demographics of the South African population, where this diversity contributes to the success of Rocktech Earthmoving Wearparts.

Rocktech currently has a Level 6 BEE rating and we are working hard to improve this rating.  Our new Verification certificate should be available during the middle of April 2010.
